Procedures of NMBI

Step 1 – Request Form for Overseas Registration

Logging into our website, www.NMBI.ie, to download and finish the Overseas Application Request Form is the first stage in the application process. This form can be found under Registration/Trained Outside Ireland. You must enter the following information on this form: your name, address, and phone number; the division(s) of the register; and, for Group 3 applicants only, your TRF number or OET Candidate Number.

Step 2

You will get an Overseas Registration Application Pack from NMBI after they have processed your Overseas Registration Application Request Form and the assessment cost. To prevent unneeded delays in the processing of your application, you must carefully read and adhere to all of the directions in this pack.

The following information is on this form:

  • – Personal information
  • – Identity cards (like a passport)
  • – Contact information
  • – Professional Training Primary Competency
  • – Registration information
  • – mandatory inquiries (You must respond to several questions regarding your work as a nurse or a midwife in any nation, state, or jurisdiction where you have done so.)
  • – Specifics of professional conduct
  • – Justifications for professional practice

Step 3 – Declarations Checklist Forms that must be filled out by pertinent authorities

The following stage entails making sure that pertinent authorities complete their forms and send them straight to the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI). You can track your application and check which forms NMBI has received once you have created an online account with them after receiving your Overseas Registration Application Pack.

Step 4 – Your application is evaluated

We will evaluate your submission after NMBI has all the data we need for your application. When logged into the NMBI website, you can use Track My Application to see the status of your application and what papers are still needed. Your Overseas Registration Application Pack has information on how this works. Please be aware that we won’t get the finished Overseas Registration Application Pack in its entirety at once. This is so that certain components can come from you and some can come from the appropriate authorities. If we need any more details from you, we’ll let you know by email or in writing.

Step 4 – Assessment results

One of the following four outcomes of the assessment procedure will be described in the decision letter provided by NMBI
